Army Sgt. Chad L. Keith, 21, of Batesville, Indiana.
Keith was on mounted patrol in Baghdad, Iraq when his vehicle drove past an object that exploded on the side of the road. Keith was assigned to the 2-325th Infantry, Company D, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on July 7, 2003.


Army Staff Sgt. Barry Sanford, Sr., 46, of Aurora, Colorado.
Sanford died of non-combat related cause in Balad, Iraq. Sanford was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 101st Support Group, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on July 7, 2003.

Army Sgt. Michael C. Barkey, 22, of Canal Fulton, Ohio.
Barkey died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, when the disabled vehicle they were towing blew a tire, causing the driver of their vehicle to lose control, hit a cement barrier, and overturn. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1484th Transportation Company, Akron, Ohio. Died on July 7, 2004.


Army Pfc. Samuel R. Bowen, 38, of Cleveland, Ohio.
Bowen died in Samarra, Iraq, when a rocket-propelled grenade exploded near his vehicle. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 216th Engineer Battalion, Akron, Ohio. Died on July 7, 2004.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Danny P. Dietz, 25, of Littleton, Colorado.
Dietz died while conducting counter-terrorism operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Coalition forces located Dietz while conducting a combat search and rescue operation July 4, 2005 in Kunar Province; his whereabouts had been unknown since June 28, 2005. He was assigned to SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team Two, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Declared deceased on July 4, 2005.


Navy Lt. Michael P. Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, New York.
Murphy died while conducting counter-terrorism operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Army Spc. Kelvin E. Feliciano-Gutierrez, 21, of Anasco, Puerto Rico.
Feliciano-Gutierrez was a .50 caliber gunner on a vehicle that was returning from patrol when it veered off the road and turned over in Orgun-E, Afghanistan. Feliciano-Gutierrez suffered fatal injuries while trapped under the vehicle. Feliciano-Gutierrez was assigned to Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Army Sgt. Timothy M. Conneway, 22, of Enterprise, Alabama.
Conneway was traveling in a government vehicle when an explosive device detonated and struck the vehicle on June 26 in Baghdad, Iraq. Conneway was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on June 28, 2003.

Spc. Gleason was traveling in a three-vehicle convoy during a storm from Mosul to Tikrit (2 HUMMVs, 1 light medium tactical vehicle). A civilian vehicle dodged a pothole causing the HUMMVs to swerve. There was not enough stopping distance between the vehicles causing the LMTV to swerve off the road and turn over, causing the death of Gleason and two other soldiers. He was assigned to the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on May 30, 2003.
